This is a set of instructions to unlock your 2G iPhone. Let me repeat that, just the 2G iPhone. You’ll know that you have the iPhone 2G by simply looking  at the back of the phone. If it’s silver in color, you got the 2G version. The later white and black colored iPhones are 3G and are not covered by these instructions.  Ask around to be sure what iPhone model you have.

Before anything else, you will need to be fully prepared. No kidding, you really must be. Not that it is a daunting task to jailbreak an iPhone , just that we need to be precise, otherwise, there is a possibility of bricking your iPhone. A bricked iPhone is just as it is, a useless iPhone no better than a brick. Not functioning and you can’t claim warranty on such.

First off, allot a good 20 minutes to do this task. Get yourself an original cable that connects to the computer and the iPhone. If this were not possible, just be sure you have a good quality set of cable. If you notice that the connection between the phone and computer goes on and off, try plugging the cable into another USB port. The on and off thing may be due to the possibility that the USB port does not support high speed. This happened to me before so I thought there was something wrong with my cable or the port of my iPhone. Only to find out later that I need to connect to a USB port that supports high speed. Do not use the cradle. Later on, you will need to put your phone on DFU mode and the cradle is simply unstable as a hold. Only the cable should be between your iPhone and the computer.

Second, you need to download the iPhone download pack. Click here. This download includes everything you need. I suggest you download this on your desktop so it is easy to find by navigation later on. This pack is zipped so you must extract, unzip or unrar. All the files are conveniently found in one pack/one folder.
Third, you need iTunes. If you don’t have it yet, download by clicking here. I used this version when I jailbroke my iPhone 2G so it should work just fine.
The steps are:

Step One
You have to have iTunes installed and running. If you don’t have it yet, download here and install.

Step Two
Save, unzip/unrar the iPhone Unlock Pack and put that folder on your desktop.  If you have no t downloaded the iPhone Unlock Pack, download here.



Step Three
Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone to the compueter by the cable.


Select your iPhone at the list of devices on the left. Hold down shift and click the Restore button. Restore is preferred as it does not create wasted spaces on your iPhone.

Go to the iPhone Unlock Pack folder on your desktop and select the iPhone1,1_2.2.1_5H11_Restore firmware ipsw. Click the Open button to continue.

Step Four
When iTunes is finished updating your iPhone to the 2.2.1 firmware, launch QuickPwn.exe from the iPhone Unlock pack folder on your desktop.

Step Five
Ensure that your iPhone is connected to the computer and click the blue arrow to continue.

Step Six
Click the Browse button to locate your iPhone firmware found on your iPhone Unlock Pack on your desktop.

Step Seven
Select the 2.2.1 firmware ipsw from the iPhone Unlock folder on your desktop then click the Open button.


Step Eight
QuickPwn will check to make sure the ipsw is valid. Click the blue arrow button to continue.


Step Nine
Select if you’d like to Add Cydia, Add Installer, Replace Boot Logos, and Unlock Phone. Select the ones you would like to perform then click the clue arrow button


Step Ten
Now, you will be asked to select your bootloader files. Click the Browse button and select the 3.9 bootloader from the iPhone Unlock Pack folder on your desktop. Dovthe same thing for the 4.6 bootloader file. Then click the blue arrow button to continue.






Step Eleven
QuickPwn will ask you to confirm your iPhone is connected via USB before continuing. Click the blue arrow button to proceed.

Step Twelve
QuickPwn will automatically put your iPhone into recovery mode. Once its in recovery mode you will be prompted to: Hold the Home button for 5 seconds, Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds, then release the Power button and continuing holding the Home button until your iPhone is in DFU mode.

Watch the prompts carefully and just follow along.
In no instance should your iPhone turn up to the apple logo. Your iPhone screen should  turn black and at this point you’ll hear a sound from your computer and the iPhone screen turns white. This confirms you are in DFU mode.

Step Thirteen
When QuickPwn detects your iPhone in DFU mode it will begin the jailbreak process.

Step Fourteen
Once jailbreaking is complete QuickPwn will inform you that it was successfull. Your iPhone will then proceed to run BootNeuter. This process will take about 5 minutes. Be patient. Your iPhone will reboot when it has completed the process successfully.
